R.D. Olson Construction to Renovate Two LAX Restaurants

IRVINE, Calif. — In the wake of completing three restaurants in Terminals C and 8 at Los Angeles International Airport, R.D. Olson Construction has been awarded the contract to build two new restaurants in Terminals 4 and 7.

Taking concessions to the next level, R.D. Olson has commenced construction of the B Grill by BOA Steakhouse and Homeboy Bakery & Café, calling for a complete rebuild. This construction is an integral part of the Los Angeles International Airport modernization project.  These eateries will also bring the local L.A. flavors to travelers around the globe.

Located at the entrance to Terminal 4, Homeboy Bakery and Café will be a 1,135-square foot restaurant that emulates its original restaurant in Los Angeles, known for its successful contributions of gang intervention via job training for at-risk youth. The restaurant will serve sandwiches, subs, pizza and baked goods. In true eclectic fashion, the restaurant will have original hand painted murals on the ceiling and walls by local Angeleno artists. Stainless steel cladding and aluminum plating will give the space a modern industrial vibe.

The B Grill by BOA Steakhouse, a version of the hip L.A. favorite, will be a 3,400-square-foot restaurant in Terminal 7 with a seating capacity of 118. It will offer steakhouse-style dining in a contemporary setting with lavish high-end finishes that include metal and wood wall paneling, stone countertops and ceramic tile flooring.

Both restaurants are owned and managed by Areas USA and designed by Los Angeles-based Corsini Stark Architects. Construction is slated to be completed by the end of the year. The project cost for the two totals $2.56 million.
