R.D. Olson Construction Renovates Popular Irvine Hotel

IRVINE, Calif.— R.D. Olson Construction, a leading builder of California hotels and resorts, has completed renovating the Marriott Residence Inn, Irvine at 2855 Main St.

R.D. Olson Construction built the original structure in 2001.  Now, featuring innovative contemporary design elements, the construction company has implemented a new Marriott prototype called innFusion.

Marriott Residence Inn, Irvine is an eight-story hotel housing 174 all-inclusive rooms.  Each suite offers a living space, kitchenette and bath. The renovation, designed by Leo A. Daly of Dallas, Texas, provides the hotel with enriched contemporary style and comfort, and the latest technology. Top-of-the-line Serta mattresses padded with feathery pillow tops and covered with attractive duvets, new shaker-style cabinets, granite countertops, tile flooring and gold carpeting that complements the new furnishings, give rise to the luxury this hotel now offers.  Large LCD flat screen televisions, soft lighting and artwork that bodes well with the Orange County culture is a mix that makes this hotel distinctly different, while offering all the comforts of home.

“Our intent was to renovate the hotel so people feel welcomed and relaxed,” said Lofton Moore, president, R.D. Olson Construction. “With the hotel being located within Irvine’s business district, it’s important to meet the ever-changing needs and expectations of its guests.”

Marriott Residence Inn is owned by Irvine-based Main Street Hotels.

R.D. Olson Construction, based in Irvine, Calif., was founded in 1979. It has grown into one of the top 50 general contracting firms in California, building such establishments as Marriott Newport Coast Villas, Newport Beach; Ojai Valley Inn & Spa Resort; and four Marriott Residence Inns in Burbank, Oceanside, Irvine, and Long Beach. Renovations include the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza, Los Angeles; Ritz Carlton Spa, Marina del Rey; and Four Seasons Los Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills. Its most recent completions include the new 19-story Hotel Palomar, Westwood; and the 174-room Renaissance ClubSport in Aliso Viejo–a full service boutique hotel and world-class fitness resort. Additionally, the company has completed more than 300 major brand restaurants nationwide. Current California projects under construction include the LodgeWorks’ boutique hotel, AVIA Long Beach; Marriott’s Shadow Ridge, Palm Desert; and the Four Seasons Hotel, Los Angeles renovation.
