Homewood Suites by Hilton, Oxnard, CA

About the project:

R.D. Olson Construction was on the fast track to build the Homewood Suites by Hilton Oxnard. In only 11 months, the new four-story hotel was built at a cost of $103 per square foot and open for occupancy 15 days later.

Completing projects on schedule and maintaining R.D. Olson’s level of quality workmanship is an art form. The firm remains competitive and preserves a large number of customers regardless of the economy by providing top results at lower-than-usual costs.

R.D. Olson has built many extended stay hotels, but this Homewood Suites was not just another typical property. For this particular location, the client raised the brand’s standards both functionally and aesthetically. Sixteen of the 129 guest suites feature built-in spas with Whirlpool tubs and electric fireplaces in the master bedrooms. Standard tile flooring in kitchenettes was replaced with natural wood and the fiberglass in the bathrooms upgraded to tile surrounds and showers. In keeping pace with technology, the living areas were fitted with big screen televisions, DVD players and Internet connections. To achieve further elegance, accent wallpaper was applied throughout the suites.

Another distinguishing amenity of the hotel is the oversized lodge building. It connects by an enclosed breezeway and houses the lobby, which was artfully designed with wood-paneled accent walls and meeting rooms built to contain sound, ensuring both guests and meeting attendees remain undisturbed.

Always striving to exceed customers’ expectations, R.D. Olson proudly delivered the City of Oxnard’s first Homewood Suites on schedule in time for the summer travel season.
