About the Project

This adaptive reuse project converted a 12-story office building into a dual brand H Hotel by Curio and Homewood Suites by Hilton hotel. With an airport-inspired theme, each brand is treated as its own entity which meant R.D. Olson had to create two distinctive room styles within the same building and duplicate amenities like separate fitness centers. The high ceilings of the ground floor provided great spaces to build unique lobby environments with many areas to lounge, a business center, a full restaurant and bar, a full Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf shop location, and separate retail spaces. An expansive rooftop was turned into a beautiful lounge with expansive views of the airport and the entire Los Angeles Valley Basin. A unique feature to the H Hotel was an exclusive lounge on the 11th floor where travelers could relax before or after a flight if their rooms werenโ€™t quite available to them yet when arriving or departing from nearby LAX International Airport.
