HONOLULU,
HAWAII--R.D.
Olson Construction, specialists in building hotels, restaurants and
retail complexes, has completed construction of Dave &
Buster’s in Honolulu, Hawaii. It is located at the Ward
Entertainment Center at 1030 Auahi St.
Olson
provided general contracting services for tenant improvements to a
newly constructed structure, transforming it into a three-story
restaurant and entertainment center at a project cost of $7 million.
It is the tenth Dave & Buster’s the Irvine, Calif.-based
construction company has built for the popular entertainment-style
restaurant chain, with most located in California.
“We
are always delighted when we get repeat business from such a
progressive company as Dave & Buster’s,” said Dennis Reyling,
president, R.D. Olson Construction.
While
the Hawaiian Dave & Buster’s will offer its usual turbo rides,
billiards tables and video games, this facility will have an
addition that the others don’t: a rooftop dining area overlooking
the Pacific Ocean. The 44,000-square-foot facility will be a major
anchor tenant of the theatre complex. It was designed by Texas-based
Melvin R. Fain Architect, Inc.
Olson
is also working on another project in Hawaii – Morton’s
Steakhouse in the Ala Moana Shopping Center. Morton’s is scheduled
for completion in November 2001.
R.D.
Olson Construction was founded in 1979 by Robert Olson. The company
has since built such well-known establishments as the Marriott
TownePlace Suites, Hawthorne; Laguna Woods Town Centre, Laguna
Woods; and Northpark Plaza, Irvine. Current Projects include
Morton’s Steakhouse, Santa Ana, Calif. and Honolulu, Hawaii; and
Homewood Suites and Hilton Garden Inn, a two-hotel resort in San
Diego and the Biltmore Bowl, Los Angeles. R.D. Olson Construction is
the twelfth largest company of its kind in Orange County with its
corporate office in Irvine, Calif.
