	R.D. Olson Construction Completes Hotel for Major Hospitality Chain
	HAWTHORNE, CALIF.—R.D. Olson Construction, specialists in building hotels, restaurants and business complexes, has completed the Springhill Suites in Hawthorne, Calif. Olson provided general contracting services for the six-story structure at a project cost of $9 million. Springhill Suites is centrally located at 14620 Aviation Blvd. The 96,000-square-foot hotel has 164 suites, a breakfast room, pool, Jacuzzi and exercise area. To better serve its guests, it offers cable access. Marriott International owns Springhill Suites. Johnson Braund Architects, a Seattle-based firm, designed it. “We have built many Marriott-owned hotels and enjoy working with such a progressive company,” said Dennis Reyling, president, R.D. Olson Construction. R.D. Olson Construction was founded in 1979 by Robert Olson. The company has since built such well-known establishments as the Marriott TownePlace Suites, Hawthorne; Laguna Woods Town Center, Laguna Woods; and Northpark Plaza, Irvine. Current projects include Morton’s Steakhouse, Santa Ana, Calif. and Honolulu, Hawaii; Homewood Suites and Hilton Garden Inn, a two-hotel resort in San Diego and renovation of the Monarch Beach Resort Clubhouse and Bay Club, Dana Point, Calif. R.D. Olson Construction is the twelfth largest company of its kind in Orange County with its corporate office in Irvine, Calif.
