R. D. Olson Construction Upgrades Spa for Five-Diamond Hotel

CARLSBAD, CALIF.--R.D. Olson Construction builder of the Ojai Valley Inn, Hiddenbrooke Premiere Golf and Clubhouse and Indian Wells Country Club, has completed making major upgrades to the Four Seasons Aviara Spa in Carlsbad, Calif. The spa is located at 7100 Four Seasons Resort Rd.

The Irvine-based construction company provided 8,000-square-feet of exterior construction and 15,000 square feet of renovations and additions at a total project cost of $3.2 million.

Interior additions included two enlarged glass roof solarium lounge and exercise area with upgraded locker rooms, spa and saunas. They also converted suites and patios into new treatment rooms. Designed to emanate a feeling of luxury for spa guests, amenities were built of stone and marble with millwork cabinetry and doors.

In addition, Olson built a special couples suite for those wishing a duo treatment in a lavish setting. Featuring high-end massage tables, stone cabinetry, private Jacuzzi cabana, shower for two and a marble fireplace, the couples suite is sure to please even the most discriminate of tastes. The upgrades also included a staffing office, hydrotherapy area, Vichy shower and linen room.

Outside is a peaceful Zen garden of artfully placed succulents. A pebble stone pathway winds through the foliage leading to a private Watsu tub and several cabanas, which will be used for treatments.

“We have built a picture-perfect spa that I’m sure will be considered one of America’s finest” said Dennis Reyling, president, R.D. Olson Construction.

The new look of the Four Seasons Spa was designed by Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo Architects and Planners. The interior designer is Barry Design.
