R.D. Olson Construction Builds Second Phase of Upscale Newport Beach Resort

 

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.--Irvine-based R.D. Olson Construction has been awarded the contract and begun construction on the second phase of Marriott Vacation Club International’s Marriott’s Newport Coast Villas. The building company recently completed the resort’s first phase, constructing 59 villas, retail outlets, sales office and a health club.

As with the initial buildings, R.D. Olson Construction is providing pre-construction and general contracting services for phase two. The company will build one four-story and five three-story structures totaling 135,000 square feet of new construction at a project cost of $18 million. At completion, they will house 79 villas. The building company also is providing landscaping services.

The 77-acre vacation club resort is located at 23000 Newport Coast Dr., Newport Beach, overlooking Pelican Hill Golf Course and the Pacific Ocean. The Mediterranean village-theme resort will house 650 two-bedroom villas built in a series of phases extending over a five-year period. It can be viewed at www.marriottvacationclub.com.
