R.D. Olson Construction to Build Lawry's Carvery at South Coast

COSTA MESA, Calif. - R.D.
Olson Construction has won the contract to build tenant improvements
of a 2,500-square-foot restaurant for Lawry's Carvery at South Coast
Plaza in Costa Mesa.
The Irvine-based construction company, which specializes in hotels,
restaurants and retail complexes, will make significant improvements
to a currently unoccupied space at the plaza's entrance. The $537,000
project will entail outfitting the restaurant with warm-toned wood,
hardwood floors with a natural finish, crown molding, brass railings
and frosted beveled glass.
“We are pleased to add Lawry's our client list," said Dennis Reyling,
president, R.D. Olson Construction. "This restaurant will be a nice
addition to the plaza."
Lawry's Carvery at the South Coast Plaza is designed to be the
prototype in a chain of upscale restaurants, which will offer
hand-carved prime rib sandwiches and other classic foods, served in 30
rninutes or less.
The project, designed by Scheer, Tanaka, Dennehy, Riley Architects,
includes construction of a full kitchen, exhibition kitchen, interior
dining room, patio dining inside the mall, and outdoor dining space.
The completion date is scheduled for Oct. 1, 2002.
R.D. Olson Construction was founded in 1979 by Robert Olson. The
company has since built such well-known establishments as the Marriott
Residence Inn, Irvine; Springhill Suites, Hawthorne; and Dave &
Buster's, Hawaii. Current projects in ~ California include Blue Sea
Lodge, San Diego; and Lake Arrowhead Country Club, Lake Arrowhead. R.
