LOS ANGELES -- R. D. Olson Construction, an Irvine-based firm specializing
in hotels, restaurants and retail complexes, has been awarded the contract to build its fifth Morton’s of Chicago steakhouse
this year. The restaurant will be housed in the Ernst & Young building located at the corner of 7th and Figueroa in
Los Angeles, a few blocks north of the Staples Center. It is owned by Morton’s Restaurant Group, Inc., a popular worldwide chain.
Olson will provide pre-construction and general contracting services for the
9,000-square-foot steakhouse designed by Shea Architects. As with other Morton’s, its décor will be of rich mahogany wood
paneling, custom lighting and plush furnishings reminiscent of Chicago’s days of long ago.
"It is always rewarding when a company like Morton’s recognizes our high quality
workmanship and continues to hire us for new projects," said Dennis Reyling, president, R. D. Olson Construction.
