R.D. Olson Construction Wins Contract to Build Assisted Living Facility in San Juan Capistrano |

The Irvine-based construction company, a specialist in hotels, restaurants and retail complexes, is working with the architectural firm RNL Design on the pre-construction design, and will serve as general contractor for the $5 million project for Casa de Amma Assisted Living, Inc. The facility, owned by Casa de Amma Inc., will be located at 27231 Calle Arroyo, and will feature a 43,000-square-foot wood frame building with a basement. Stone columns will grace the entranceway. The central courtyard of the u-shaped facility, and the swimming pool and spa are just some of the featured amenities. The basement will be equipped with an exercise room, video arcade, laundry facility and home theater. On the ground floor will be a lobby, lounge and full commercial kitchen serving breakfast and dinner seven days a week. The ground and upper floors will contain 33 apartment units available for lease to all age groups. The high-end, one- and two-bedroom apartments will each be equipped with their own full kitchens. Groundbreaking for Casa de Amma Assisted Living is scheduled to take place in early October, with construction to be wrapped up by next summer. This is the first project R.D. Olson is undertaking for Casa de Amma, Inc. R.D. Olson Construction was founded in 1979 by Robert Olson. The company has since built such well-known establishments as the Marriott Residence Inn, Irvine; Springhill Suites by Marriott, Hawthorne; and Dave & Buster's, Hawaii. Current projects in California include Chapman University Dance Center, Orange; Blue Sea Lodge, San Diego; and Lake Arrowhead Country Club, Lake Arrowhead. R. D.
