SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. -- Irvine-based R.D. Olson Construction,
builders of hotels, business centers and retail outlets, has completed a 7,500-square-foot recreation center
and pool equipment facility for Talega Swim & Athletic Club. Designed by the Dahlin Group, which is known for
its work in high-end Spanish style architecture, this is the third of a four-phase project to build a 30,000-square-foot
clubhouse complex sitting upon the new Fred Couples-designed 18 hole-golf course.
"It is a pleasure working with such fine architectural designers and
knowing this recreational project will be a focal point of such a uniquely-planned community," said Dennis Reyling,
president, R.D. Olson Construction.
Olson provided pre-construction services, construction management and
general contracting for the first two phases of the project. The first phase included the Welcome Center, an elaborate
portico and archway entry totaling $1.5 million.
The construction company has already begun work on building the third phase:
the golf clubhouse. Once completed, the project costs for all the phases will total $7.5 million.
R.D. Olson Construction was founded by Robert Olson in 1979 and has since built
such well-known establishments as Northpark Plaza, Irvine; Southern Highlands, Las Vegas, Nev.; Marriott’s Newport Coast Villas,
Newport Beach; and Oak Creek Village Center, Irvine. Headquartered in Irvine, Calif., R. D. Olson Construction is the twelfth
largest company of its kind in Orange County with offices in Honolulu, Hawaii and Las Vegas, Nev.
