R. D. Olson Construction Completes Major Renovation of Japanese Restaurant for Growing Chain

GOLDEN VALLEY, MN. – R.D. Olson Construction, specialists in hotels, restaurants and spas, has completed the renovation of a Benihana restaurant at 850 Louisiana Ave. in Golden Valley, MN. This is one of seven restaurants the Irvine-based construction company has built or renovated for Benihana National Corporation, which is based in Miami.

R.D. Olson provided general contracting services for the renovation, which included additions of a sushi bar, millwork and glass partitions, and new stained oak bar counters. Olson also replaced existing gas heated Teppan cooking tables with new electric griddles.

Former Kobeissi Associates Inc. designed the 10,000-foot reconstruction. The project cost for the restaurant’s reconstruction totaled $700,000.

"We have worked with Benihana National Corporation on many projects and hope to maintain this strong relationship as they continue to expand," said Dennis Reyling, president, R.D. Olson Construction.

R.D. Olson Construction was founded in 1979 by Robert Olson. The company has since built such well-known establishments as the Marriott Residence Inn, Irvine; Springhill Suites, Hawthorne; and Dave & Buster’s, Hawaii. Current projects in California include Blue Sea Lodge, San Diego; and Lake Arrowhead Country Club, Lake Arrowhead. R.D.
