R.D. Olson Construction Builds Extended-Stay Hotel

 

Newark, Calif.-Irvine-based R.D. Olson Construction has begun work on the Marriott TownPlace Suites located at 29802 Cedar Blvd. in Newark, Calif. The 73,300-square-foot extended stay-style hotel will accommodate business people visiting the San Francisco Bay Area, where a shortage of lodging facilities exists.

Irvine-based R.D. Olson Construction, specialists in hotel and restaurant building, is providing the general contracting and project management for the $6.4 million project. It will consist of two colonial-style buildings housing 122 suites with extended-stay accommodations such as a laundry facility and efficiency kitchens.

Marriott TownPlace Suites was designed by its owner, Marriott International Design Construction, Inc. and is scheduled for completion in May 2000.

"The Marriott TownPlace Suites will be welcomed home for the many business people visiting the Bay Area," said Dennis Reyling.

R.D. Olson Construction is a national general contractor and construction management company. It was founded by Robert Olson in 1979 and has since built such well-known establishments as the Holiday Inn Select and Conference Center, La Mirada; Northpark Plaza, Irvine; and Hilton Garden Inn, Arcadia. Current structures under construction include Oak Creek Village Center, Irvine and Laguna Woods Town Center, Laguna Woods. R.D.
