Waikiki, Hawaii--R.D. Olson
Construction has been contracted to build a Dave & Buster’s in Waikiki
Beach, Hawaii. This will be the tenth Dave & Buster’s the construction
company has built for the popular entertainment-style restaurant chain.
R.D. Olson Construction will
provide general contracting services for tenant improvements to a newly
constructed building, transforming it into a three-story adult playground and
restaurant. Dave & Buster’s will be a major anchor tenant of the shopping
center, which currently is under construction. The project cost for building
the 44,000-square-foot facility is $6.5 million.
“As a primary contractor for Dave
& Buster’s, we enjoy the opportunity to use our imaginations in building
structures, which are designed to entertain,” said Dennis Reyling, president,
R.D. Olson Construction.
In addition to spouting its usual
turbo rides, billiards tables and pinball games, this Dave & Buster’s will
also have a rooftop dining area overlooking Waikiki Beach and the Pacific
Ocean. It was designed by Texas-based Melvin R. Fain Architects, Inc.
R.D. Olson Construction will
begin building the action-packed restaurant in March 2001. It is scheduled for
completion in summer 2001.
R.D. Olson Construction was
founded in 1979 by Robert Olson. The company has since built such well-known
establishments as the Northpark Plaza, Irvine; Oak Creek Village Center,
Irvine; and Morton’s of Chicago, Vancouver, British Columbia. R.D. Olson
Construction is the twelfth largest company of its kind in Orange County with
offices in Honolulu, Hawaii and Las Vegas, Nev. The company’s corporate headquarters
is in Irvine, Calif.
