R.D. Olson Construction Awarded Contract to Build Hotel for Georgia-Based Chain

 

Anaheim, Calif. - R.D. Olson Construction, an Irvine-based firm, has won the contract to build a Staybridge Suites in Anaheim, Calif. R.D. Olson Development is the developer of the project.

Located within one mile of Disneyland on South Manchester Ave., the project falls under the umbrella of the Anaheim resort development. The 143-room Staybridge Suites will share the six-acre site with Holiday Inn, which R.D. Olson Construction also is contracted to build. Construction for the $11 million Staybridge Suites will begin in April 2000.

R.D. Olson Construction, known nationwide for its work in hotel and restaurant building, will provide the pre-construction and general contracting for the 121,000-square-foot structure. The seven story, extended-stay hotel designed by Lee & Sakahara Architects will share a common courtyard with its neighbor, Holiday Inn. Because of its close proximity to Disneyland, it will serve as a shuttle depot for theme-park visitors. Staybridge Suites is owned by Bass Hotels and Resorts of Britain.

R.D. Olson Construction is a national general contractor and construction management company. Founded in 1979 by Robert Olson, the company has since built such well-known establishments as Northpark Plaza, Irvine; Hilton Garden Inn, Arcadia; and Duke's Surf City, Huntington Beach. R.D.
