R.D. Olson Construction To Renovate Suites at World-Famous Hotel |

The Irvine-based construction company will provide design/build, estimating and general contracting services for 14,000 square feet of renovation at a cost totaling $1.1 million. The hotel, frequented by many of the world’s most prominent personalities from celebrities to diplomats, is located at 9500 Wilshire Blvd., Beverly Hills, Calif., at the Rodeo Drive intersection. The Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel is owned by CTF Hotels and Resorts. “It’s an honor to have been selected as the general contractor to renovate this world-renowned hotel that has long been a historic landmark in Beverly Hills,” said Bob Olson, CEO and president, R.D. Olson Construction. “Our expertise in revamping and expanding high-profile historic buildings gave us the leading edge in being awarded the contract.” The suites are housed on the 14th floor in the hotel’s West Wing. Each will feature an eloquent display of marble, wood, stone and tile flooring. Tall doors of rich millwork will grace the bedrooms and entryways. The exquisitely designed bathrooms will draw on ornate water fixtures to artfully embellish their décor. The overall style of the renovated suites will be in keeping with the hotel’s 21st century European charm that has so long delighted guests. Los Angeles-based CSA Architects designed the four suites. For the interior design, CTF Hotel and Resorts enlisted Barry Design Associates, Inc., a Santa Monica-based company that R.D. Olson Construction recently worked with in renovating an elaborate 44,000-square-foot ballroom and 10,000-square-foot full-treatment spa at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort in Indian Wells. Completion of The Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel renovation is set for late March 2004. R.D. Olson Construction was founded in 1979 by Robert Olson. The company has since built such well-known establishments as Marriott’s Shadow Ridge, Palm Desert; La Costa Glen Senior Housing, Carlsbad; Madison Walk Multi-Family Development, Pasadena; and Sports Club L.A., Beverly Hills—all in California. Current projects, also in California, include major renovation of the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa Resort, Ojai; Marriott Hotel Warner Center, Woodland Hills; and Mission Inn Spa, Riverside. |
