Irvine, Calif. - Jack Stones recently was appointed director of project supervision at R.D. Olson Construction--an Irvine-based company which specializes in building hotels, retail outlets, country clubs and restaurants nationwide.
Stones will oversee all R.D. Olson Construction projects from Marriott Newport Coast Villas, Calif. to Morton's Steakhouse in Seattle, Wash. For each, Stones will be responsible for everything from managing superintendents and job quality to scheduling and methods of construction. With 22 projects currently under way, he will provide guidance to 35 superintendents, and 14 carpenters and laborers.
Stones began his career with R.D. Olson Construction more than 11 years ago. During this time, he worked his way through a series of titles including project manager, superintendent and general superintendent. Also, he is credited for overseeing many of R.D. Olson Construction's more prestigious projects such as the Indian Wells Country Club and a five-star estate in Las Vegas.

While most of Stones' work is in commercial building, his expertise is often is called upon for special projects such as the recently-built 11-acre private Las Vegas estate. It consists of eight high-end buildings including a 38,000-square-foot sports facility, 30,000-square-foot discotheque and two 18,000-square-foot guest houses.
Prior to joining R.D. Olson Construction, the 25-year veteran of the building industry operated his own business, Stones Construction of Oklahoma City, OK. As a self-employed general contractor, Stones specialized in hotels and was responsible for building many of the lodging facilities surrounding Disneyworld in Orlando, Fla. He also was one of the only contractors who, during the 1970s, was hired to build discotheques in the larger hotels, such as the Quality Inn, San Diego; Holiday Inn, San Bernardino; and Sebastians, Bentroff, Iowa.
R.D. Olson Construction is a national general contractor and construction management company. It was founded by Robert Olson in 1979 and has since built such well-known establishments as the Holiday Inn Select and Conference Center, La Mirada; Northpark Plaza, Irvine; and Hilton Garden Inn, Arcadia.
