R. D. Olson Construction Wins Contract to Build New Restaurant for Popular Steakhouse

BURBANK, Calif. – R.D. Olson Construction, specialists in hotels, restaurants and retail complexes, has won the contract to build the tenant improvements for the newest location of Arnie Morton’s of Chicago, The Steakhouse. The fine dining establishment will be located at 3400 W. Olive in the Pinnacle – a new office, retail and restaurant complex nearing completion in Burbank.

The Irvine-based construction company will build the interior of the elegant steakhouse, which covers 8,300 square feet, and will cost $1.3 million to construct. It will resemble other Morton’s dining establishments throughout the country, which are characterized by wood paneling, custom lighting and a richly furnished decor.

Shea Architects, of Minneapolis has designed the project. Construction of the restaurant is set to begin June 3, with completion scheduled for the end of September.

"We have worked with Morton’s of Chicago on many projects and are pleased they have chosen us to build their newest addition," said Dennis Reyling, president, R.D. Olson Construction.

Morton’s will have a dazzling new location in the six-story Pinnacle. When completed, the Pinnacle will offer 400,000 square feet of office, retail and restaurant space, built atop a four-level parking garage. The project is across the street from NBC Studios, and Disney Studios, Warner Bros. Studios and Universal Studios also are nearby.

Morton’s is one of the country’s top steakhouses, with more than 60 restaurants in the United States, Hong Kong and Canada, including those built by Olson in Los Angeles, Honolulu, Seattle, Santa Ana and Vancouver.

R.D. Olson Construction was founded in 1979 by Robert Olson. The company has since built such well-known establishments as the Marriott Residence Inn, Irvine; Springhill Suites, Hawthorne; and Dave & Buster’s, Hawaii. Current projects in California include Blue Sea Lodge, San Diego; and Lake Arrowhead Country Club, Lake Arrowhead. R.D. Olson Construction is the twelfth largest company of its kind in Orange County with its corporate office in Irvine, Calif.
