R.D. Olson Construction to Build San Diego Hotel Resort

 

Irvine, Calif.-- R.D. Olson Construction, specialists in building hotels, retail outlets and business complexes, has been contracted to build a two-hotel resort at the intersection of Ocean Bluff Ave. and Vista Sorrento Parkway in Torry Hills, San Diego. The Homewood Suites and Hilton Garden Inn are owned by R.A. Rauch & Associates and will total 148,000 square feet of new construction at a cost of $13.2 million.

Olson will provide the pre-construction and general contracting for the two hotels. Homewood Suites will be an extended stay hotel and with 120 rooms. The Hilton Garden Inn will house 80 rooms. Each is four-stories and touts a California-style exterior.

"These hotels will cater to guests of a newly-constructed nearby business park," said Dennis Reyling, president, R.D. Olson Construction.

Construction for Homewood Suites and Hilton Garden Inn will begin September 1, 2001. Both Hotels are scheduled for completion in May 2002.
