Leading Construction Company Completes Phase I of Historic Country Club

BRENTWOOD—R.D. Olson Construction, the Irvine-based firm known for its work on such prestigious establishments as Ojai Valley Inn & Resort, Marriott’s Newport Coast Villas and Glen Ivy Day Spa, has completed Phase I of the $6 million Brentwood Country Club renovation. Brentwood Country Club is located at 590 Burlingame, in the upscale city of Brentwood within Los Angeles County. The renovation is intended to revive the Brentwood County Club, which was built in 1935.

“We completely transformed the country club into a modern, vivacious facility,” said Robert Olson, CEO and president, R.D. Olson Construction. To give the historic building its new look, R.D. Olson built customized cabinetry, outfitted the rooms for new technology, and replaced the outdated color scheme. Now, millwork of warm red tones stained to match the existing oak dresses the walls and accents the artistic lines of the ceiling. Recessed cabinetry for televisions, stereos and other compartmentalized necessities allows for the club come up to speed on the latest and greatest technology. One of the club’s main focal points, the ballroom, has been transformed into a multi-purpose room fitted with folding patricians and new carpet flush with rich deep red patterns, boding well with the facility’s overall color scheme. Renovations also included several conference rooms, men’s and women’s locker rooms and card rooms and a spacious members-only clubhouse restaurant.

Robert Olson founded R.D. Olson Construction in 1979. It has since grown into one of the largest general contracting companies in Orange County. It specializes in building resorts, country clubs, hotels, multi-unit housing and restaurants. The company has built establishments for such clients as Marriott, Hilton, Morton’s Restaurant Group and Benihana. Current projects under construction include Union Station Village at Los Angeles Union Station; Marriott’s Shadow Ridge, Palm Desert; and University Village Towers, Riverside.
