R.D. Olson accepted the challenge to build two fast-track projects in Southern California for the rapidly expanding, limited-service brands of Hilton and Marriott.

The Hilton Garden Inn, a 65,000 square foot, 124 room hotel stands four stories and features an open atrium lobby, two meeting rooms, dining facility, fitness room, swimming pool and spa. The lobby and public spaces boast an impressive, upscale look with the abundant use of granite and Italian tile. All of the guestrooms feature solid bowed granite vanities.

The Marriott SpringHill Suites is a four-story, 86 suite extended-stay hotel. The 50,000 square foot, wood frame building houses such amenities as a meeting room, exercise facility, buffet dining room, swimming pool and spa.

R.D. Olson was brought in early by the client to provide pre-construction and value engineering services and worked closely with the City of Arcadia's Redevelopment Agency to coordinate the relocation of the existing overhead utilities to underground facilities. R.D. Olson also utilized its own engineers to redesign the structural systems and electrical design and overcame several hurdles to complete this project ahead of schedule.
