From the shores of Hawaii to the
coast of California, Ian Gardiner has built his way across the United States.
Starting as a carpenter more than 20 years ago, Gardiner has progressed into his
current position of vice president at R.D. Olson Construction. Gardiner began his employment at R.D. Olson Construction in 1992 as a project manager working mostly on renovations. Today, the British native plays a major role in maintaining the company’s second office in Honolulu, Hawaii. During his career with R.D. Olson Construction, Gardiner has overseen the building of many types of structures, including the AT&T Networking Operating Center in Honolulu, Hawaii and more than 2 million square feet of renovations for Sears throughout the Western states. While Gardiner’s list of projects is lengthy and varied, much of his work has been in the Aloha state, building corporate offices for such prestigious companies as Hewlett Packard, Diebold Security, Wakenhut Security, Phillip Morris, JVC and Budget Rent A Car. Before joining R.D. Olson Construction, Gardiner worked for Broadmoore Homes as vice president of construction and operations. In this position, he oversaw the company’s residential and commercial construction in Southern California and the Bay Area. Gardiner also played a major role in constructing the residential community of Monarch Beach during his ten-year post at Stein Brief beginning in 1976 and culminating in 1985. The highly skilled construction engineer was educated in Great Britain and holds a general and engineering contractors’ license in California and Hawaii. |
