Danny Dang heads
up R.D. Olson Construction’s technology division, and given
the company’s continuous growth, this is no easy task. Dang joined the company in 1991 as project scheduler, and has gone from casually helping maintain the firm’s computers to his current position as Chief Technology Officer. His role is to align technology vision with business strategy by integrating company processes with the appropriate technologies. A key member of the company’s management team, Dang oversees strategic technological planning to achieve business goals by prioritizing technology initiative and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future technologies. His team of engineers must ensure that the organization’s architecture, telecommunications, networks, programming, media and desktops operate in sync with each other and the entire R.D. Olson infrastructure. Dang also must ensure that the company’s equipment and software operations adhere to applicable laws and regulations, and should the need arise, that a information recovery and business continuity plan is always ready for implementation. To remain current in the rapidly changing world of technology, Dang spends his share of time conducting research on industry trends and advancements. He attends numerous conferences and seminars, and brings the knowledge back to his staff. His membership in the Southern California Information Technology Professionals Association is also another valuable tool in keeping up-to-date. In 1996, Dang earned the designation of Certified Novell Engineer and in 1999 became a Microsoft Certified System Engineer. Dang also holds a bachelor of science degree in construction management from California Polytechnic State University, Pomona. |
